In which we commence the tightening of the belt...

Dear World:

Due to the recent economic climate, and the fact that I might not have a job next month, I won't be buying any more bike stuff for a while. Like probably a couple of years. Got mortgages to pay, and all that...GULP!

Best Regards,
-Jim G

It's ok. Time to get a part time job at a local bike shop.

Ouch. Hope it doesn't come to that. Not the best way to have more time to ride.

Arleigh, I'm sure you've seen JimG's conversion of his Bridgestone to 650B too (I noticed your recent post on sixfiftyB)

Lots of black humor around my particular job site lately too. Good luck surviving.

That's like a third of your headcount, isn't it?

Rumors of huge cuts where I work also -- I expect to see them middle of December. Product management is getting insane about releasing new hardware the first week of December, leading me and others to suspect there won't be much engineering for new products after that.

I'm sure there's plenty more of that to come in the Bay Area.

Not a third, more like 23%. They've told us officially "at least 10%", whatever that means...
