Changing Rear Flat Video from Bicycle Quarterly

Was a bit of a pain to find Mark VK's flat-changing video in the current issue of Bicycle Quarterly, so I'm just adding it here for bookmarking purposes...

Nice! He cheated in not spending 5 minutes trying to figure out why he flatted, or worse, 30 minutes picking goatheads out of the tread with a pocketknoife. Pretty impressive though.

Hmmm. Not all, not even many, of my tires fit the rim in such a way that I can take them off w/o using tire levers. I've never put as much pressure into the new tube as Mark did before putting the tube into the tire. I'll have to try that to see how well it works. I couldn't see exactly if he puts the bead on where the valve stem is first or last. Putting the bead on the rim at the valve stem last is a change I've made in my flat tire routine just in the last few years. Tarik's point about not looking for the cause of the flat is quite important too.
