DIY Wiring Guides?
These stick-on housing guides (or these) intended for hydraulic brake lines could probably be repurposed to route lighting wiring inside a bike's fork blade...Hmm.

Budget Monstercross?
My coworker just got this bike (used) for $200. It has gobs of tire clearance, especially in the rear. It's pretty damn light, too. There's even a variant with disc brakes! Now I'm thinking this bike might just be the ticket for the basis of a budget monstercrosser!

2010 La Ruta Loca Randonnee -- The Aftermath
Here are my few photos from last weekend's La Ruta Loca Randonnee.
We had about nine folks at the start, although about half (I think?)
cut the ride short (myself included). Like last year, I didn't make
any of the controls within their time windows, ran outta gas at nearly
the same spot (San Geronimo Valley), and managed to ride about 100
miles for the day (~90 miles of the actual route) in around 12 hours.
Unlike last year, I think I ate better, plus I stopped for a quick nap
in Ross on the way back home.
This is a really tough route, both physically and mentally! Kudos to
those at the starting line, and even more so to the finishers (Carlos,
Brian, and Greg, Nick, and John)!!!
Distance:~100 miles
Bike: Fuji CX
Time: 12.5 hours

Pop-Pop-Populaire!
The San Francisco Randonneurs would like to invite you to participate in our 2nd Populaire, to be held on July 17th, 2010.
This is a free event, though registration is required.
The Populaire is intended to introduce riders to the sport of randonneuring. Most of our brevets are 200km in length, but the Populaire, at 115km, is only slightly more than half that length.
More information, and a link to the registration form is here: http://sfrandonneurs.org/fall-2010-115k-populaire.htm
Check out more photos of this ride from last year!
